Met Zeit maakt Marc Vanrunxt voor het eerst in zijn parcours als choreograaf een duet. Een duet voor twee bijzondere dansers, Eva Kamala Rodenburg (Private Collection, Raum, Extraction) en Igor Shyshko (voormalig danser bij Rosas), die in deze constellatie transformeren tot een als het ware mythisch paar. In hun lange, androgyne gestalte lijken ze elkaars evenbeeld, dat zich tegelijkertijd differentieert en ontdubbelt door hun verschillende bewegingstaal.

In navolging van Raum, een drie uur durende voorstelling die Vanrunxt in 2006 creëerde, is ook Zeit een poging om het concept tijd in ruimte om te zetten en tastbaar te maken. Maar waar Raum begint met het haast onzichtbaar achterwaarts schrijden van 3 performers door de ruimte, begint Zeit met Eva Kamala Rodenburg en Igor Shyshko die zijdelings naast elkaar, diagonaal de ruimte doorkruisen, blik op oneindig, vol verwachting en hunkering naar de toekomst. Waar Raum een aanwezigheidsperformance was in het hier en nu, is Zeit veel meer gericht op iets wat zich nog moet aandienen.

Zeit is gebaseerd op het gelijknamige dubbelalbum van Tangerine Dream uit 1972

ZEIT is the first ever duet in Marc Vanrunxt's choreographical oeuvre. It is a duet for two extraordinary dancers, Eva Kamala Rodenburg (Private Collection, Raum, Extraction) and Igor Shyshko (ex-Rosas), who seem to transform into an almost mythical couple in this constellation. They appear as each other replica because of their long androgynous figure that simultaneously differentiates and splits up because of their different movement vocabulary.

Like Raum, a three hour-long performance of Vanrunxt from 2006, ZEIT is an attempt to convert the concept of space into time and to render it tangible. But where Raum starts with the almost invisible walking backwards by the three performers through the space, ZEIT starts with Eva Kamala Rodenburg and Igor Shyshko moving side by side, diagonally through the space, looking at infinity, full of expectation and longing to the future. Where Raum was all about the presence in the here and now, ZEIT focuses on what still has to come.

Zeit is based on the double album of Tangerine Dream with the same name from 1972.
